Three fragrances. Three sides of home.
I grew up on the north-east coast of Scotland. At the time, it was simply home. I did not realise quite how special it was until I left.
I lived in London for 13 years, travelled extensively through work and eventually moved back north to Edinburgh in 2022. That distance gave me a new appreciation for where I grew up: the movement of the coast, the roughness of the landscape, the warmth found indoors and the memories held in its scents.
I still think it is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
The Origins Collection is my attempt to bottle some of those memories. Aire, Kist and Sorn each capture a different moment, feeling and side of Scotland.
Together, they form a fragrance wardrobe. Three distinct scents to wear according to where you are, what you are doing or simply how you want to feel.
They were created to be worn by anyone. Fragrance is personal. Choose the one that feels right for you.
I had to leave to understand it
Growing up, I was surrounded by open water, rocky coastline, changing skies and wind that could make its presence known very quickly.
There was a rawness to the landscape, but also real comfort. Rough stone outside. Soft fabric, dark wood, books and the warmth of a fire inside.
Those contrasts stayed with me.
It was only after years spent living in a much bigger city that I began to understand how much those places, textures and smells had shaped me.
Aire, Kist and Sorn are not literal recreations of Scotland. They are memories and moments, interpreted through fragrance.
Aire
Energy at the edge of the coast
Aire begins with the feeling of climbing towards the top of a rocky coastal bank.
Before you reach the edge, you can already hear the wind. Then it hits you: cool, mineral and completely energising. There is movement everywhere.
Green mandarin and Calabrian bergamot give Aire its bright citrus opening. Cool ozonic air brings lift, while dry vetiver adds an earthy depth beneath it.
It is fresh and lively, but not overly clean or predictable. There is texture to it.
The name comes from the Scots word aire, a gravel-shored coastal edge where land meets sea.
I wear Aire when I want energy, clarity and a sense of forward movement.
Fresh. Mineral. Energetic.

Kist
Warmth, closeness and complete comfort
Kist is the softer side of Scotland.
It takes me back to the contrast between the rough landscape outside and the comfort found indoors. Cashmere against the skin. Smooth wood. Paper, fabric and the warmth of a fire.
It is sitting down with a book you have probably read before and feeling no pressure to be anywhere else.
Kist opens directly into sandalwood, warm benzoin and dry cedarwood. It stays close to the skin, without sharp transitions or unnecessary drama.
The Scots word kist means a chest or cask, something made to hold and protect what matters.
This is a fragrance for quieter days and closer moments. Familiar, tactile and calm.
Soft. Woody. Close.
Key notes: Sandalwood, benzoin and cedarwood.
Sorn
Smoke, depth and the pull of the evening
Sorn takes the collection somewhere darker.
When I think about nightlife, I do not necessarily mean a loud club or somewhere with sticky floors. I think of a good bar, a whisky, low lighting and the steady hum of conversation.
Some of my earliest scent memories come from driving through Speyside with my dad. He was an engineer and worked in distilleries. I remember the peaty, malty smell becoming stronger as we moved closer to them.
That smell has always stayed with me.
There is the comfort of being young and sitting beside my dad. There is also something richer and more grown-up in it: whisky, worn leather, dark wood and the feeling of an evening that has started to make its own decisions.
Sorn brings together whisky-cask warmth, smoky leather and deep amber resins. It is full-bodied and expressive, with a structure that feels both modern and slightly vintage.
The Scots word sorn means to linger through charm or persuasion. That felt exactly right.
Sorn leaves an impression. Warmth in the air, a trace on fabric and the memory of an evening that continued longer than expected.
I wear it when I want presence. When I want to feel strong, confident and ready to let the night take the wheel.

Build your fragrance wardrobe
I did not want to create three versions of the same fragrance.
I wanted each one to have a clear purpose and a distinct character.
Choose Aire for freshness, energy and movement.
Choose Kist for warmth, closeness and quieter moments.
Choose Sorn for depth, presence and the evening.
There are no strict rules. Wear Sorn during the day. Keep Aire for dinner. Reach for Kist when you simply want something close and comforting.
Fragrance should fit you, not the other way around.
